Kick's own limits, straight from its Help Center, plus a bitrate picker: choose your resolution and frame rate and enter your upload speed to get a starting bitrate inside Kick's allowed range.

Kick's guide also suggests, for the encoder itself: x264 preset veryfast, profile main, tune zerolatency; or for NVIDIA NVENC, preset P6, tuning Ultra Low Latency, multipass Single Pass. AMD hardware encoders follow the same NVENC-style settings.

How we pick the bitrate above

Kick does not publish a bitrate table per resolution (only the overall 1,000–8,000 kbps range and the hard caps above). Our picker scales within that official range by resolution × frame rate, then — like our Twitch/YouTube calculator — keeps the total at or below 75% of your measured upload if you enter one. This is our own recommendation, not a number from Kick.
